I grew up in South Orange County, graduating from Corona Del Mar High School in 1989. I graduated on the dean's list at the University of California-San Diego with a degree in speech/communications and with honors at Western State University College of Law. I have been litigating criminal cases since 1995, but my defense career began in 1998.
I gained three years of valuable training as a California State Certified Law Clerk in the Orange County District Attorney's Office. I began practicing criminal defense for Bridgman, Mortkin, & Shapiro, a law firm out of Fountain Valley, exclusively handling all the firm's felony jury trials. After nearly two years and over three dozen jury trials, I opened my own practice across the street from The West Justice Center, in the city of Westminster in 2000.
In 2012, I opened my second Law Office in Newport Beach, steps away from the Harbor Justice Center. With 15 years of previous experience of having an office across from the West Justice Center, I am very well connected across all Orange County courthouses.
