Growing up in South Orange County, I graduated from Corona del Mar High School in 1989. I later earned a degree in speech/communications from the University of California San Diego with a dean's list standing. Then, I studied at Western State University College of Law and graduated with honors.
Previous Professional Experiences
After graduating from law school, I worked as a California state-certified law clerk in the Orange County District Attorney's Office for three years. This job gave me invaluable legal training and experience with the local courts.
In 1995, I started working on criminal litigations. Three years later, I began my defense career. I started practicing criminal defense for the Fountain Valley law firm Bridgman, Mordkin, & Shapiro, where I exclusively handled the firm's felony jury trials.
Starting THE LAW OFFICES OF JEFF TATCH
After nearly two years and over three dozen jury trials working for Bridgman, Mordkin, & Shapiro, I opened my own practice across the street from Westminster's West Justice Center in 2000. I then opened my second law office in Newport Beach in 2012. This new location was just steps away from the Harbor Justice Center. After 15 years of operating a law office across from the West Justice Center, I became well-connected across all Orange County courthouses.
